Guar gum is used in cosmetics as a thickener and conditioner, such as in toothpaste and shampoo.
It’s used as a binder and disintegrant in tablets, and as a main ingredient in some bulk-forming laxatives.
Guar gum improves sheet formation, surface density, and printing quality in paper.
A significant amount of guar gum is used in the shale oil and gas extraction industry.
It can also be used in explosives and as a waterproofing agent in ammonium nitrate.
